Volunteering and the CRC

NOVEMBER 17, 2022 -- We welcome and encourage family and friends to volunteer in our school communities. Volunteer participation is an important complement to the work done by employees.

At the same time, Regina Public Schools is responsible to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff. For this reason, all volunteers who provide services to students on a recurring, scheduled basis, or who are present in a school on a recurring, scheduled basis prior to 6:00 p.m. on school days, require an original Criminal Record Check (CRC), including a vulnerable sector check.

The CRC must be provided by the Regina Police Service or, if the volunteer does not reside in Regina, from their local police agency, such as the RCMP.

Fire Prevention Week 2022

SEPTEMBER 28, 2022 -- The 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week is October 9 to 15, 2022, and the theme is "Fire won't wait. Plan your escape." Today's homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning. Visit the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) official Fire Prevention Week website for tons of great information, activities, ideas, resources and more!

Use this fire safety information to support your emergency planning at home.

Two-Way Conferences

Our first conference day is rapidly approaching! Kindergarten conferences are Wednesday October 5 (no school for K) and Grades 1-8 are on Thursday, October 6 (no school for Grades 1-8 students).

Students brought home information about booking through Conference Manager. If you have any questions please contact the school office.

These are two-way conferences (teacher and parent/caregiver) and are intended as a check-in early in the year and a chance to set goals moving forward. You can book a virtual (Zoom or Google Meet), phone call, or in-person at the school.
