Dropping Off Your Child

Please drop your child off in a safe and appropriate spot. Follow the signs on Rink Avenue and pull over in these areas only.

The entrance to the parking lot needs to be clear for staff and for RPS delivery vehicles.

Please do not use the staff parking lot to drop off your children. This is not safe. Small children cannot be seen by other drivers. Staff have often seen potentially dangerous situations.

Parent Teacher Student Conferences

Thursday, November 22 - 3:45-5:45 and Friday, November 23 – 8:00 AM – Noon

(Students only attend school during their conference. There is no school all day on Friday, November 23)

Conferences provide an opportunity for us to review your child’s Personal Social Growth and his/her learning experience at school so far this year.

We are pleased to be using the Conference Manager to schedule Conferences using the Internet. This is offered to regular K-8 students and their families only at this time. (A special note: Kindergarten students who are the ONLY child at the school are going to be scheduled differently.)

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Our Remembrance Day Service will be held on Friday, November 9 at 10:45.

If you have a Veteran that could join us, please click HERE to use this form and return it to school. This year we are excited to have some of our students performing Metis Jigging.   They have been working hard under the direction of Ms. Alex McNabb, Mrs. Klumpp’s intern.

Many of your sons and daughters are in choir.  Please watch for a pink form to come home explaining what they will need.  For those of you with access, you will also find this form HERE.

Please note that all parents and family members that are interested are welcome to attend.  If you know of any servicemen that would be able to come, please have them fill out the attached form to submit their names and/or email me at june.allan@rbe.sk.ca .  Those that do not use email can contact me at 306- 551- 3545.  We would love to have them attend, as the students enjoy showing their respect for all for all that they have done.  If you let me know ahead of time they will get special attention at our service.  If we can get a picture and short write up about them, they will appear in a slideshow.  I already have some of your submissions from last year, so you could check with me to make sure your servicemen or veterans (past and present) will again be included.

Some of your children will be wreath bearers.  You will be notified by their teachers so that you are aware of their participation in the service.

Please feel free to call, text or email me with any questions or concerns.

Absences Add Up!

Did you know?
-Being on time for school sets your child up for a great day of learning.
-Even in Kindergarten, absences can cause children to fall behind in their learning.
-Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it difficult to learn to read – a critical future skill.

Please take a moment to view this video featuring local community Leaders as they discuss the importance of everyone focusing on school attendance. Attendance Matters - United Way Regina

Awesome Education Week at W.H. Ford

The theme this year was A World of Learning for Every Student.

We celebrated with our first Best. Effort. Always. Assembly that recognized 14 fantastic Ford students demonstrating effort and grit. This is not about marks or test scores! It is about doing your best work even when the work is tough.

Ford Families joined us for Going Bananas for Books!  Students read with their families Thursday morning and we enjoyed a nutritious snack together.

We had Chief Evan Bray and three star Pat Players reading to students on Friday morning. The students loved the hear them read and answer questions.
